I talked to my family. They don't have power, and they will have to replace their backyard fence, but that's about it.

They live at the border between Deer Park and La Porte, but there was no flooding.

My niece and her babies are just north of Houston. They're power is out also but appear to be fine. The wind gusts here are pretty intense but that's about all. It sounds like Houston is getting a lot of flooding though and widespread power outage.

Better than the original!

Anyway, where I live, Ike will just give us a ton of rain and winds, no tornados, etc.

We only got a few clouds on Saturday morning, and the sun was out by noon yesterday.

Just got our internet back, power came back on Friday afternoon. What a mess, took a whole week to clean up the yard. There are still power outages around here. Galveston and the Bolivar Peninsula got trashed. Mostly just tree damage here, but a big mess anyway.

Yep, we lived.
Some areas, not so lucky. There's going to be a death toll with this one when everything's sorted out.
