Can Google take down my photographs at the request of the BBC or other people where they are not indecent?

I have photographs of my teddy bear Bearsac with famous people. I noticed that my hits on that page had gone down by about 2/3. When I typed in Kara Tointon and Wendy Richard ( from Eastenders) into Google images (as they came up as the top or very near top photo and got my site lots of hits) I noticed there was no sign of the said photos on the first couple of pages of photos.

Would Google take them off at the request of the BBC or the famous person in the photos? Or is there some technical issue behind this? If so how do I get them back where they were?
I realise that they come up high due to the amount of websites that link to www.bearsac.com and maybe that particular page on it.

No, I don't have an answer for you, sorry, just mentioning that up front.

But I had to see the web site after your description and that gallery is incredible! You and Bearsac have really put in a lot of leg-work.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I did enjoy your web-site very much and wanted to let you know.

you could contact Google to find out.

It might be more of a copyright issue, or just maybe the Chinese thought it had something to do with them...;)

If you did not take the photos, there may be issues of copyright infringement that the photographer or copyright holder protested about.

If you did take the photos but don't have a signed consent form from the person(s) depicted in the photo, there might be an issue about improper use (even if you are not using the photo for commerce in any form or fashion).

As to your specific case, I can only guess.

Hello

I have just noticed that I had 3 people find my 'Bearsac Meets Celebrites' page by Googling Kara Tointon 3 out of 11 hits in less than 3 hours, which contradicts the hits for Kara in the last couple of weeks and mirrors what it used to be before my hits for that page started going down. So I checked and the photo of her with Bearsac is back to No. 1! Yippeeeeee! The one with Wendy Richard is at No. 4, so has come back up too.

Still would be interested in knowing what happened if anyone can help.

The photographs are mine on there, I do not have signed consent but do have verbal consent from the majority of people photographed, including the ones whose pictures went down for a while.

Glad people have enjoyed the page or website - I guess it and Bearsac in general is my Aspie special interest!
