It could be that your computer is preventing it from automatically installing itself onto your computer as a safegaurd against malware. If you get a message that pops up asking you to either "allow" or "disallow" the program, simply click "Allow" and that will tell your computer that it's okay to proceed downloading it. I hope that solves your issue.

You need to be more specific.
What's the game?
What's your hardware?
What does dxdiag say?
Does other game work?
Does Aero work?
Have you updated your display card driver?
Are you running it under XP mode?

So dxdiag says that 3D acceleration is off? That sounds like a driver issue. Does acer provide any updated driver on their homepage? You may also try nvidia's site but the reference driver doesn't always work on notebook.

btw, aero is Windows' fancy UI. The transparency and Flip3D needs 3D to work. I asked because if that's not working you definitely need a new display card driver.

Maybe next time someone has problem with his computer, I should tell him to get the computer a good night sleep first.
