my parnets said I can get a new phone (No more virgin mobile :) ). But I have to choose between Sprint which they are on or verizon wireless which my older sister is on(I would be as an add-on for her plan). which one is better in new york? Also they said the phone must be under $100, I see 2 phones on both services that I want. On sprint it is between the palm centro, and the LG rumor 2. On verizon is it the LG chcolate 3 or LG dare. what should i get?

Definitely go with Verizon. They have awesome service and good phones. As for the phone it depends which you want, a touchscreen or not. Both are nice phones so it's up to what you would like better and what you want to do with the phone, do you want it more for texting or calling?

Droid Eris would be a great phone that's $99 after a $100 rebate. On Verizon. The phone sports Android 1.6 and will be updated to 2.0 within the next few months. 5MP camera and all the goodies that come with having an Android phone.

/works in a Verizon store
//they discontinued the Dare, btw. The Chocolate Touch is replacing it.
///Still think you should go with an Eris because it's a lot of phone for not much money.

Sprint is the same Network as Virgin, so your coverage would be limited. Verizon has better coverage, but you pay for it too. On the radio today, cricket was advertising unlimited voice & text for $30 a month... I'm not sure what their coverage is like.

I personally do not use the cell phone enough to go with a plan, so I am sticking with Virgin for now.

Old thread, I know. But do not, I repeat, DO NOT go with Cricket.

The sh***y batteries make up for the money you save on minutes/messages on their unlimited plan. I've never met anyone with a Cricket phone that lasted for more than 20 minutes on a typical day. Both my ex girlfriend and cousin would charge their phone for as long as it took, and the phone would just go dead in no time.
