I'm thinking about buying some quality computer speakers this summer, and I would like to hear what speakers people think are the best. My budget is going to be around $200 to maybe even $250. The only requirement is that they don't artificially boost any frequencies (a dial for that is fine as long as I can adjust it).
It depends on what you're doing. If you're looking for general purpose speakers then I absolutely love my BOSE MediaMate computer speakers. They
look like this, only polar white. I've owned my pair for over 10 years and they're still going strong. They produce rich highs and satisfying bass. You can
read reviews from others. Since BOSE stopped making these speakers in 2002 it might be hard to find a pair, and I'm not entirely sure if
Companion® 2 multimedia speaker system are the next generation, but if they are $90 is a steal for these speakers. They'll last for a LONG time. :)
If you looking for studio monitor speakers then I recommend a pair of
ROKIT 5's from KRK Systems coupled with a
M-AUDIO Fast Track Pro - 4 x 4 Mobile USB Audio/MIDI Interface with Preamps. You'll definitely want Monster cabling and
FL Studio.
