I thought it was because an electronic hand held reader will soon transform paper and ink books into kindling.

well..it could be that a hand held divice can now serve as a kind of portable hearth- or tribal camp fire.

Even on the go you can carry a glowing thing around which you can commune with story tellers in a primal way.

More likely it's because they think that now that it's easier to buy and read books on the go, it might kindle the love of reading in the owner. God knows most Americans could do with cracking open a book or two. No offense to my fellow Americans if this is not the case.
