How do I promote my products?

Im going to be developing a few games that are different and fun to play, and I will also be developing a website that people might like.
How will I promote it?
Apart from promoting it to friends.
How would I spread the word?

First you'd have to register yourself as a small business and copyright your stuff otherwise if the games are a hit anyone can simply copy them and claim them as their own.

As for advertising.. many ways. Go to game cons and give out dvd copies for free to the game magazines present there; you can put video footage on youtube and you can also do word of mouth advert. at colleges...

or best yet, make a demo version of the game and see if any game magazine or game website will host it.

If you have facebook you can make a page about your products that people can ''like''. Get a lot of facebook-friends and send them invites to ''like'' your page.
