Why does the sky turn dark from the ground?

But from the sky it turns yellow?

It doesn't. This is a camera artifact. The camera adjusts the gain in response to the total light input so that you get a visible picture in a wide variety of lighting conditions. If some area of the screen gets really really bright, everything else will become darker by comparison when an automatic adjustment is made so that the average brightness stays within certain limits.

The first was taken at day, the second at night? The second yellow appears to be additional burning of the plume after it does a BLEVE.

By the way, where's all the press coverage of the refinery fire? Why is all the attention on the nuke plant? Isn't all that toxic crud from the refinery also a significant health issue, or is it all being blown out to sea too?

That makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

I have no clue other than to say maybe they think a plant going nuclear is probably more significant than oil refinery fires.

Probably. Nuclear plants have a really bad rap hear for some reason. For example, I didn't even think of the devastating effects that that would have... I just really hope all the workers got out!! !! ! I'm really worried.

I'm prayed to Jehovah and asked him to help my spiritual brothers and sisters. I know the Watchtower society is going to mobilized a huge relief effort. Many of the donations we give, and well as what we receive from the community towards our world wide preaching work, is going to go to relief and aid in Japan. I would not be surprised if plans are in the works now.

My $.02........
.
vid 1....and no you cant compare the two

No! not the camera it actually is darker on the ground if you were there The exposure does change from 15 to 25sec but after that point it doesnt readjust back

>heres why..-that was alot of smoke which will even block out direct and ambient light from above....cieling painted black as opposed to white..
-Also your eyes..if you didnt keep them closed, will have lost "night" vision after watching the bright flash.Like going into the house after being in the sun

Vid 2 is shot at night under a clouded sky..IT IS illuminating the surrounding area with an almost constant fireball in the sky

apples n oranges

The problem with nuclear fission generation is the POSSIBLE down side as opposed to the PROBABLE down side. Nuclear fission generation is a very useful servant and a Dreadful Master.
