First, I realize this may not be the best place to ask about this, since this is likely not a tech forum. :p

Second, if you have nothing constructive to say, don't say anything and the thread will die by itself and fall off the main page, alright?

Tertio, here are my specs :

Running with a 300W PSU, 2 hard drives (one master and 1 slave), 1 dvd-rom driver. Using a Viewsonic VA903b LCD screen. Also, the Graphic card's fan died recently, so I changed it for a Zalman Tech VF700-Cu which I installed myself. It is currently on the 5V mode. If there is any more information needed, i can post it here. Oh yes, this is a computer that was bought used for the most part then added in some used parts.

Now, the problem is that approximately 1 week after installing the new fan, I've begun to witness artifacts in WoW (which I admittedly play a lot), and I've almost witnessed what I think are dead pixels outside of the game (although they never stick to the same place, oddly enough).

Can anyone help? :( I'm at wits end here, and thinking of taking the card to check if it's dead or dying.

What temperature is the GPU running at, after a good workout?

Welll, Core temperature, as told by Rivatuner, seems to be stable at 54.48 degrees Celsius when not working out... I'll try to make it work a bit and see what i get, provided it doesn't crash.

GPU's probably overheating.
Check the temp during load like Cornflake said

55c idle sounds like a lot for the 6600, the errors also sound like gpu overheating, though in a minor way if it is only a few pixels at a time.
check core temp and if too high reseat the heatsink using the tape and razor method,

My 7600GS runs at around 50-53C with the stock heatsink and weedy little fan, but it never gets a real workout.
I think Oodain is correct about the minor overheating, and reseating the heatsink should fix it.

Small update, tonight as I was playing a SNES emu (which didn't really change the core temp btw), i experienced some vertical lines after coming back from dinner. I proceeded to reseat the heatsink (i do not know about the tape and razor method, sorry :( ), but it changed very little. ._.

I might just take it to the closest electronics store and see if it's not just dead. =(

the tape and razor method consists of using a layer of masking tape to set the thickness of the paste, making sure there is not too much r too little.

does it show in dos?

I reckon it did. For the moment I'm just using a replacement graphics card that's unable to process 3D graphics as well as that card did. =( (ATI Radeon 7000 series)

Since I have very little money due to not having a job... ._.

if the graphical errors showed in dos you should take it to maintenance.
