..the little speech bubble that pops up in the bottom right corner on XP? It keeps telling me every few seconds, "USB Device Not Recognised" and it is driving me mad. It works perfectly fine, and I just want to switch off those messages, cos they're annoying. Thanks.

Follow instructions to disable ALL balloon tips.

PS, it would probably be better to sort out the problem with your USB instead of just disabling the notifications, they are a symptom of an underlying problem.
