Recently I've been thinking of getting a new phone, but the problem is that I'm way behind the times with technology these days. The last phone that I had was a hand me down from my mother several years ago. Do you have any suggestions for me?

First to thing is ask yourself some questions:
- do I just want to call people?
- do I want to text people?
- do you want to read email on the phone
- do you want to use apps, etc

And what is the budget?

When you know what you need, want and can spend, then you can try to get good advice.

I've an idea of what I want with a phone, because I typically use a phone to call people. Or to use it in the case of an emergency. Though I'm not convinced about texting though, since I see it more of a hassle. For example, I spent nearly five minutes trying to write a response that didn't make me want to cringe.

Self I used a simple Nokia, until I got a smartphone (paid by boss). Sturdy phones that can survive all kinds of falls. Easy to use.

A smartphone paid for by your boss is pretty sweet. 8)
