Hi

I'm looking for advice on how to create animation cartoons. Eventually I'll want to create industry-acceptable cartoons.

This morning at school we were shown how to use macromedia fireworks in a 2 hour lesson. This is the only experience I have in the area so I'm pre-entry in the field I guess you could say.

Does anyone have advice on what tools I should use to get started? What are the pros using?

Thanks,

I'd say start with Flash, although the learning curve is steep. The most frustrating and non-intuitive prog I have ever used. An easier version is called Swish, maybe start with that.

hmm in another thread I mentioned Inkscape for doing vector work, you could also give a try to
GIMP (like photoshop, there's even a skin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIMPshop)

also, on a side note, Autodesk has free student editions 8O

I'd recommend start with Moho/Anime Studio, it's easier than Flash
Neo Mickey was done in it, have you seen the video?

...good luck finding a working link to the video, searched but didn't found any :(

Thank you. I'll take this advice.

PS, nice name computerlove, especially if it's from the Kraftwerk track - one of my all time favs. <3
