Mine is Tuojiangosaurus. It was a relative of Stegosaurus which had spike-like back plates.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuojiangosaurus

I also like how its name is a hybrid of Chinese and Ancient Greek.

Really? Nobody else has a favorite dinosaur? I guess I'm really different from the rest of the autistic community. I always suspected that.

Another dinosaur that I like is Iguanadon. I love how bizarre it was. It had a beak in the front of its mouth ... and molar teeth in the back. It protected itself ... with thumb spikes. It was a quadruped when walking ... and a biped while running.

Sadly, this dinosaur doesn't appear in movies too often because it isn't "scary".

Why do dinosaurs even have to be scary? Why can't they just be majestic? Filmmakers always ruin dinosaurs by making them "scary".

I also like Brontosaurus. I like how it went from being real, to being fictional, to being real again.

Brontosaurus was named by Othniel Charles Marsh back in 1879. Later on, scientists determined that Brontosaurus was actually the same genus as Apatosaurus. Thus, the scientific community began using the term "Apatosaurus" exclusively, as "Apatosaurus" was coined first. It was coined by Marsh back in 1877.

More recently, in 2015, further scientific studies have determined that Brontosaurus was actually a separate genus from Apatosaurus this whole time.

I also like Giganotosaurus. It was bigger than a T. Rex and it didn't have feathers.

i see! well, a lot of herbivore dinosaurs' skeletons look fairly similar , long tails and long necks , essentially big ass reptiles. eheh it's fascinating how these creatures became more diverse as the centuries passed. im not an expert in the subject but the earlier mammals really did look very reptilian too. half reptilian half mammalian.

When I was a kid, my favorite dinosaur was Baryonyx. I always liked its gharial-like maw, its fish-eating lifestyle, and the heavy claws that give it its name.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baryonyx

Now that I am an adult who has read about dinosaur evolution, I can appreciate this creature even more because I now know Baryonyx to be a more primitive relative of Spinosaurus.

All members of the Spinosauridae clade had adaptions towards a piscivorous diet. Ironically, most members of this family did not have the spines that give the whole clade its name.

Some fans of Jurassic Park 3 don't like the new aquatic Spinosaurus, but I have no issue with it. An animal that big would have been able to devour sharks.

Another one of my favorite dinosaurs is Sinotyrannus.

A tyrannosaur with a crest? You'd better believe it!

I also like Gigantoraptor. It was basically a gigantic Oviraptor.

Image

Not all giant theropods were big-headed tyrannosaurs. Some were giant death parrots! :o

Overall, I'm very fond of basal Tyrannosaurs. More advanced tyrannosaurs could not have existed without them.

Another dinosaur that I like is Dinornis.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dinornis

It was technically a dinosaur, since birds are dinosaurs.

I also like Tsintaosaurus.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsintaosaurus

It no longer has a schlong on its head in modern reconstructions, but I still like it.

I always liked triceratops best. He seems like the Eeyore of dinosaurs, somehow.

Well...every kid loves the stegosaurus. The thing with big dragon like spines running along its back. But they have fallen out of fashion with grownups lately because they were not in the branch of dinosaurs related to the ancestors of birds. In fact I don't think that I have ever seen a stegosaurus in any teaser for the Jurassic Park movies ( The stegos lived in the Triassic, but most of the dinos in that movie were from the Cretatious so they mixed and matched in the movie).
