16 Gigabyte iPod topic

My son tried to jailbreak 1.14 firmware using a file called Ziphone and now the screen has 24 lines of BSD root:md0, major 2, minor 0.

what does this mean, and how can it be fixed? Please help. My son is very upset.

you should be able to fix it by doing a "restore" from itunes while it's plugged in over the USB port. If that doesn't work there are lots of tricks like holding both buttons for 30 seconds, then releasing the power button while it's plugged in. You can find lots of message boards through google that talk about how to reset these things. It's very difficult to break these things so they can't be restored.

Thank you, Wolphin, for your help. My son did all these things and then he enlisted a friend who specializes in computer repairs and together they fixed it. But thank you for responding. It is a difficult procedure to correct this problem. Apple wanted to charge 100 dollars for a repair.

gawd, I want one of those SO bad!

If they made the touch feature into an apple tablet, I'd convert to mac in a heartbeat!
