Did you say that wasn't proper? Did you march out on the track?
You were quiet, just like mice. And now you say that we're not nice.
Well thank you buddy for your advice...

They always get short shrift, and we still don't know enough about them. It's a shame, because they're really cool little things.

Hell, they might be the majority of the earth's biomass, and nobody even knew they existed until very recently. Talk about hiding in plain sight.

"No living thing can possibly survive there."

"I can, get out of the way."

Oh yeah, there was a topic. I lived with elephants a few years. Circus style management, you live with the animals.

Totally alien intelligence, not surprising, considering the differences in what humans and elephants use intelligence for. Same planet, different world. They share our love for beer though. Walk into the barn carrying a beer and they all stick out their trunks. You pour some in and they spray it in their mouths and stick out their trunks for more.

Individual elephants form deep bonds with individual humans.

That was back when I was young and crazy. Never figured on living long enough to get old and crazy.

I don't think intelligence is quantifiable, even among humans, much less between vastly different species.
