What do you think of using cybernetics to unify aspie human being with machine, thus turning ourselves into supermen?

Pointless.

If it's an NT-sponsored project, then you can count on having a remotely-controlled "OFF" switch in each of your cyber-enhancements.

If it's an Aspie-sponsored project, then you can count on NTs using our cyber-enhancements as further evidence of our "monstrous" personalities and intentions.

Either way, one well-place railgun shot would take out a cyborg before he / she / it could react.

Lose-Lose.

At first thought that would be awesome, but then again we'll also get the typical cyborg weaknesses like short circuiting.

I see it as great new opportunity, new evolution of mankind. And NT;s may very well think we are monsters, why not? Rather that than being seen as people with disability!

Human being has cell degeneration. Cyborg does not have cell degeneration.

Wrong.

A purely cybernetic being - a robot - would not have cellular degeneration. But a cyborg, being part organic, would have cellular degeneration in its organic components.

It is a fantasy to assume that Aspie cyborgs would take over the world, for the reasons I mentioned in my previous post. This is aside from the fact that full-body replacements are impractical. The neural-tech interface alone would be prone to electrolytic degradation and outside interference.

Again, the technology required for cyborg development would require NT involvement, especially in financing. And who has the most money to spend on fringe technology? Why, governments and the military, of course. And what better soldier to have than one that could be turned off before it turns against you?

Cyborgs will never rule the world, as long as there are NTs involved in their development. And there aren't many of us Electrical Engineers tht are also Aspies - at least, not openly so.

Zyborg, I've seen several very bizarre posts from you. Now, are you just trolling WP and having a laugh at all us gullible Aspies who seem to take you seriously, or are you actually a depraved, maniacal idiot?

No it is not fantasy.

In Silicon Valley, 1 in 5 kids have asperger's. That is good.

We could stop cell degeneration by genetical therapy and replacement of organs.

Replacing damaged or diseased body-parts with artificial analogues is a noble and worthwhile application of cybernetics, but this is just plain kooky. For all our sakes I hope an unholy monster --like Robocop 2-- remains in the fertile human imagination where it belongs.

I must admit that becoming a cyborg is one of my dearest fantasies. My father had a pacemaker, my mother has an artificial hip - isn't that already one step into the right direction?

It'll be particularly interesting to see whether, in the coming decades, electronic brain enhancements such as the one used by Johnny Mnemonic will become a reality. If they do, we can be sure that many Internet users will start melding their consciousness with that of cyberpals all over the globe.

Here's a caveat: New technologies creates new problems.
