Anyone watched it?

I started and binge watched the first 4 episodes. It's really really good!

Finished season 1!!

I won't say anything more as I am sure folks are watching it right now (so no spoilers).

It's really quite an emotional roller coaster ride.

However, there's things that happen in the series that don't make sense and seem strange to me? It would have been perfect if they bought in some more creative writers.

I watched the first two episodes, but I guess my boyfriend is interested to...so I will hold off before watching anymore till he gets a chance to watch some, so he can see if he wants to keep watching it or not.

But yeah so far I am enjoying it, going to take some effort to hold up for my boyfriend to catch up though as I really want to know what happens next.

I watched a random video a while ago about Squid Game guards. So far that's all I know about it.

Don't want to give away anything but was watching a podcast about the cultural underpinnings of Squid games.

The same way the Japanese movie Godzilla was a representation of the intergenerational cultural trauma of nuclear bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Squid Games is a representation of the intergenerational cultural trauma of imposed bureaucracy and lack of personal control experienced by South Koreans at the hands of successive governments living under the shadow of nuclear threats from the north,

The imposition of bureaucratic control of our daily lives is something we can all relate to. The industrial revolution, corporatisation, political manipulation - all predicted by Orwell and demonstrated in social experiments by Ash, Milgram and Zimbardo.

Haven't watched because seeing it play out makes me very uncomfortable, but I have read and speculated a LOT. It has a lot of good messages and themes, too. That's the kind of work I like to see.
