Yes! It is sort of an atmospheric horror. I've read that Shatner was speaking Esperanto with a Canadian accent...but I wouldn't know.

he grew up in Quebec so he speaks fluent Quebecois. that may have been what you heard as far as "canadian accent."

Idk I'd like to see one that is actually scary. Like I want a movie I will jump out of my seat and try and hide under the coffee table in horror. Why is that so much to ask.

Because your brain knows they're just movies and can't hurt you?

Have you ever tried going ghost hunting?
Have you tried: Trekkies [1997]

My brain knows it real so I find the moving too disturbing to ever watch again!

Halloween (David Gordon Green's 2018 film that starred Jamie Lee Curtis)

It was just okay...it tried too hard to copy the original movie, and I feel like they could've easily made it without having to retcon the entirety of the sequels.

Just watched Halloween Kills the other night...it wasn't very good. Possibly worse than H20. Possibly.

Really? I rather liked it for it's take on how the people of Haddonfield, turning into a lynch mob, collectively become as much a monster as Michael Myers.

You mean Kills?
I thought, like the first movie, it was too derivative of the original(s).
The "lynch mob" bit was straight from Halloween 5, except it was a smaller group of drunken rednecks.

There were some bits I liked, and some bits that made me cringe. A lot of the acting was bad.
I think my biggest problem with the movie was how inconsistent they were with Michael's "supernatural powers" (which I thought the whole point of retconning the sequels was to re-write him as being more human, like in the first film??):
In some scenes, he is completely impervious to damage or impact...blunt force, stabbings, and even a fire hose did absolutely nothing to deter him or slow him down.
In other scenes, he's back to his traditional power level, and a baseball bat easily knocks him down momentarily.

Also, I thought this was the "movies I refuse to watch" thread

PS. Halloween Kills should have a drinking game, take a shot anytime someone watching it yells "SHOOT HIM AGAIN/GET BACK, HE'S NOT DEAD YET".
