Favorite horror movies? :skull:

Here is my list.

Night of the Living Dead.
Carnival of Souls
House on Haunted Hill
Nosferatu
Psycho
Zombie aka Zombi 2
Hell of the Living Dead
Day of the Dead
Carrie
The Shining
Children of the Corn
Pumpkinhead
Jeepers Creepers
Ju-On
Ju-On 2
The Others
Sleepy Hollow
Sweeney Todd
The Beyond

Imo the Pumpkin head is a monster movie but not necessarily a horror movie. Monster movies don't have to be scary but they need a good monster. The 30s Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon are imo monster movies that weren't scary but that had good monsters.

I'm sure those monsters were scary in their day.

It's like little can scare modern audiences. Some films that I thought were scary were the Conjuring, Devil, Blair Witch Project, and Dark Skies.

If i did watch it would be accidental. Sounds like it might be tough to watch. But if I had a GF that wanted to watch it i would placate her.

I don't think I've seen a "scary" movie since I was a kid.
Maybe Fatal Attraction, but I don't think most people would consider that a "horror" film.

Its gory and campy tone made it a great movie.

It was decent.
There were a couple really funny bits, but now I can't remember what they were...

^^^thank you both and all for your description of it, i was wondering if the gory bits featured lots of screaming, IOW would i have to fast-forward those bits, or was the horror more campy than that?

Pretty sure there's a fair amount of screaming, yes.

Can you not just hit the mute button? It's pretty obvious when the screaming is about to start. Basically, any time a man gets near her crotch, get that remote ready.

it's not just the audio, it is the video as well, what i would do is, if it were available, use an instant 10-second jump button. it just hits too close to home. 8O now if it is cartoony violence like in the uncut "Reanimator," i can handle it.

Hmm...I think it's a little bit cartoony, but you'd have to be the judge of that.
