GadgetGuru, Any comments on Mozart and the Whale [2005]?

In Adam [2009] I can see some similarities with a younger me. In Mary and Max [2009] I can see where I could've ended up if I hadn't lucked into finding my bride. In Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them [2016] I see my fantasy Aspie.

But I'm not sure what to make of Mozart and the Whale...except that it is a reasonably good movie.

Don't Breathe II.

The villain of the original movie, the blind man is now the hero, fighting to protect the young girl he had saved years before, after thugs break into their house in the country. The leader of the thugs is a meth producer, and the girl's biological father. But his intentions for her are much more sinister than wanting a family reunion.
Very good movie.

I saw Drag me To Hell yesterday, not sure if it's a great movie, but it was a great time!

The Damned United

A 2009 film about the legendary British football manager Brian Clough and his disastrous six week spell in charge of Leeds United, who had just won the English First Division championship in 1974. As someone who was massively into football in the early to mid 1970s, I couldn't help but be fascinated by this, but even so, it ought to have been better done.

You come away from the film little the wiser about what made Clough such a phenomenal manager, or for that matter why he was so obsessed by Leeds United in such a negative way (the film offers a rather unconvincing reason). Michael Sheen comes across as a very lightweight version of Clough, while Colm Meaney as his nemesis, Don Revie, is better, but is not given a big enough part to play.

The movie also has a high number of factual inaccuracies, as do many biopics, but this sort of thing really annoys me.

Old

By M.Night Shyamalan

I usually enjoy his movies. This was a bit of a disappointment. Interesting premise but just slow, not well acted, trite situations and portrayals.
Worth a couple dollar rental on a slow night.

I only liked Sixth Sense, Devil, and Signs. Sixth Sense put him on the map.

Halloween Kills.

I'm wondering why they don't just cut Michaels head off and burn the body. That would get it done.
