I agree Max Headroom is an excellent example of something else of the same nature. Emphasis on "excellent"! I think the Max Headroom [1987-1988] series was excellent science fiction.

Some sticklers might say "But, hey! Wait! We're supposed to be talking about movies!!"

That gets into the sad thing. Before the TV series there was a Max Headroom [1985] TV movie. And I have yet to find a legit Region 1 copy of it except on VHS! That and the original, theatrical, without later "enhancements" by George Lucas copies of the first three Star Wars movies, from 1977-1983, are the only reasons I hang onto my old, decrepit VCR.

For the Millennials and Zoomers present I think I should say Max Headroom was an iconic 80s TV show that was way ahead of it's time. It depicts a dystopian future where television is everything. Technology not related to television has fallen by the wayside. The title character is an AI construct who appears as a head and shoulders on a TV screen.

^^ Just watched Red Notice tonight (Netflix most successful film to date and most expensive due to special effects).

Really enjoyed it. Fast paced, plenty of twists and turns, alot of fun, and some surprise appearances.

Black Widow.

Takes place in the time period between Winter Soldier and Infinity War, where Natasha Romanov, aka the Black Widow, takes care of a threat from her past, along with former Soviet operatives who had posed as her family.
Much better than I had expected.

Monday evening we watched:

Peter Rabbit [2018]
-=-"Not your garden variety hero."

Last night we watched:

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway
-=-"The garden was just the beginning"

My bride really enjoyed both movies a lot and I love her.
I thought both were OK  though I am impressed by the CGI for the rabbits.

Note: This is the same gal who immediately, enthusiastically agreed we should definitely get a copy of another film I discovered on IMDb yesterday: Bubba the Redneck Werewolf [2014].

Me and my boyfriend went and saw Dune, and it was a good movie.

But idk the theater kinda sucked the screen did not have great picture, there was a rattely heater or ac vent that came on a few times and you could hear it over the movie and the lights didn't even dim down all the way like they should in a movie theater so that was bothering my eyes. For sure not the epic experience we were hoping for to say the least. I figure whenever they release part 2 we will plan for it and go to a better theater with a better set up.

Agreed. Good sendoff.

The Humans.

A Thanksgiving family dinner where the boyfriend of an adult daughter talks about a graphic novel where monsters tell scary stories about humans. Pretty much true, as each character has unspoken, unresolved trauma haunting them as they pretend to be happy.
Slow but enjoyable.

Last night we watched two movies:

The Mouse That Roared [1959]
tag:"The Smallest Country in the World Invades the U.S.A.!"

The Mouse on the Moon [1963]
tag:"When A Tiny Nation Of Nuts Goes Into The Rocket Racket!"

These movies were based on quite readable books which are part of a series of books.

Charlie's Angels

I like this new version. Elizabeth Banks did a good job with this.
