Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Maybe not up to par with the original, but still enjoyable. Too bad Mr. Deets (Jeffry Jones) had ruined his life with a sex scandal, otherwise he would have appeared in it.

Mouse Trap.

Very lame attempt to make Mickey Mouse into a slasher movie star.

I have not. It's been on my list of movies to try to watch sometime. It looked good though.

Last night we watched:

Tenet [2020]
<=>"Time Runs Out"

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan.

The film is about time travel, sort of. The premise is that things can go forward or backward through time...so in some scenes you see some things happening forward and some things happening backwards...at the same time, in the same place.

The film is just as grand as you would expect from Nolan.
For instance, they filmed a scene about wrecking a 747 by wrecking an actual 747!
I recommend watching it on the biggest screen you can with the highest resolution possible.

Oh, they wrecked the 747 on the ground, not in the air. Let's not get crazy!

Alborada, a Sri Lankan movie about Pablo Neruda's stay in Sri Lanka.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alborada_(film)

He was quite a randy fellow in his youth. Another film, Il Postino, he is an older man living in Italy.

The IMDB descriptions don't do the movie justice.

David Lynch: The Art Life.

Documentary on David Lynch's early life, and how it influenced him in becoming an artist and filmmaker.
Highly recommended.

Joker: Part Deux.

Arthur Fleck is put on trial for the murder of five people, and falls in love with his biggest fan, Harley Quinn. His defense is that he has multiple personality disorder - the Joker being a separate entity after years of childhood abuse - while the prosecution, headed byHarvey Dent, argues he was legally sane and deserving of the death penalty. Answered at the end is whether he's the actual Batman nemesis... or not. And it's a musical to boot!
While overly long, the movie wasn't nearly as bad as critics said it was.

A cute movie. I recommend it.

Well, I don't think it is an episode of any TV series so I guess it is a short movie that we watched last night:

Bah Humduck!: A Looney Tunes Christmas [2006]

Based on Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" [1843], but with more laughs.

I saw Conclave today. It was really good, far more entertaining than you might imagine.

Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 3.

Finish to the three part DCU animated movie series. I think they practically managed to squeeze just about every DC character into this battle to save the multiverse.

Old Acquaintance, 1943

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0036230/

Quote:

Old friends Kit Marlowe and Millie Drake adopt contrasting lifestyles: Kit is a single, critically acclaimed author while married Millie writes popular pulp novels.

A movie about authors caught my interest. The movie is basically a long soap opera, which I usually don't like, but this one was pretty good. Worth a watch.

Anora

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt28607951/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuPkfvxmtdw

A fascinating tale about a 21-year-old boy from Russia who is from an extremely wealthy family, and who, on a lark, marries a prostitute from New York.

Well done. An odd thing about the movie is the sex scenes--there are a lot of them, but they each last about one-half of a second. If you blink, you miss them.
