When I walk up to the ticket booth I would like to know how to properly pronounce the title. Is it pon-yo? pon-YOU? pony-o? Halp!

We've been saying PON-yo, and no one has complained. But no one seems to know about it, even though there's commercials. It was a delightful movie! Ebert gave it a glowing review as do I. The characters are adorable, but not cloying. I just couldn't believe how empty the theater was. What's wrong with people? Do movies have to be loud, rude, and "in your face" for American audiences to take notice?

People only do what they're told to do. They're told to go see GI JOE and they obey. "We're consumers. We are by-products of a lifestyle obsession. Murder, crime, poverty, these things don't concern me. What concerns me are celebrity magazines, television with 500 channels, some guy's name on my underwear. Rogaine, Viagra, Olestra."

Thanks for the pronunciation tip! :)

It's because peoples don't know Miyazaki, as simple as that.
