May watch that tonight, was it enjoyable?

Yeah, but it is quite different to all the other ED films

I enjoyed it too. IMO Evil Dead without Bruce Campbell is like Superman without Christopher Reeve. Having said that Lily Sullivan looked at home wielding a chainsaw, she was badass  .

Yesterday I saw 'Women Talking'

It was f*****g phenomenal.

I'm so glad I got to see it at the cinema. The script, the score, the shots, performances. As an allegory it was horrific and apt, and touched a truth that is probably felt at the heart of all women. At the end I just let myself cry.

I wanna see this so badly. I love Greta Gerwig.

Oh wait it's Sarah Polley? Even better. Can't wait.

I hear it is great.

I finally saw it.

Yes - It's brilliant.

I need to watch this!

That's a good one. John Sayles is definitely an underrated filmmaker.

1917. I thought it was excellent.

Cruel Intentions (1999)

Supposed to be a remake of 'Dangerous Liaisons' (which I've not seen) from a decade earlier, but allegedly nothing like it. An awful film about horrible, boring, rich, spoilt, foul-mouthed young New Yorkers, with actors like Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe. The latter's character is especially obnoxious. This reminded me of why I rarely watch any film from the last 35 years or so. Some people say Western Civilization is heading for a collapse, and I sometimes think it can't come soon enough.

DarkStar.

1974 Sci-Fi comedy, where astronauts on a twenty year mission in space destroy unstable planets. An early John Carpenter movie.

Mr. Bean's Holiday
tried it again, it don't go well through the dvd player, and seems mostly an elaborated ad, imho

Sacrifice.

Lovecraftian horror, where a man returns to his childhood home in Norway with his pregnant wife, only to find that his mother had killed his father, and had fled to America. Soon, they begin to understand the eldritch horror she had been trying to escape.
Pretty decent horror flick.

Spiderman: Homecoming.

My wife's Mother's Day present. She loves superhero movies.

^ Good visual quote there.

I've not seen Dark Star for years, despite owning the Blu-ray since 2018 apparently.
(unearthed in an "Ooh, I must get that on disk" moment, discovering it's yet another movie sitting on the to-be-watched pile)

^ I'm glad someone else got the reference

I just went to DL it and there is a Directors Cut with 11 extra minutes, so that's another cult classic I have to try and get my GF to watch. :jester:
