I mentioned a bad movie that was a fun movie, Blond Fury [1994], to my bride and she drew a blank.

So last night we watched Blond Fury, again. It's still very bad and very fun.

P.S. It is BLOND Fury, not to be confused with BLIND Fury.

And it is Blond Fury [1994], not to be confused with Blonde Fury [1989], aka Lady Reporter.

57 Seconds
It's a time-travel story. Not my favourite, but somewhat entertaining and I was pretty much able to follow the plot.

I also saw Missing which seemed good but I lost the plot towards the end. It's one of those "smartphone movies" where a lot of the content is text messages on a phone. I don't like smartphones and it annoys me that the industry is using that method to attract the smartphone-addicted public, but I didn't let that stop me enjoying the film. It's not as if it cost me any money.

Salome's Last Dance (1988) -- a delightful take on the Oscar Wilde play. Some surprises.

Available on YouTube (albeit poor quality)

Dark City (Director's Cut)
I love it. :D
I was transfixed the whole time, which was odd for a movie that wasn't particularly funny and was similar to other things I'd seen (not cliched, just inspired a lot of modern sci-fi). The first thing I said when it finished was: "Please tell me this has a sequel, or a comic or spin-off or something!"
Unfortunately, it doesn't (though a series is apparently in works). Gosh, I can't wait.

Swiss Army Man.

A suicidal man stranded on an island discovers a corpse washed on the beach, which he befriends. Soon, he finds the corpse' flatulence can be used to ride said corpse off the island like a jet ski, where he finds himself on the Pacific coast. He talks to the corpse, and soon, the corpse talks back to him. Also found is a cell phone with the picture of a beautiful woman in the photo section, which they believe must be the corpse' significant other, who the corpse must be reunited with. All this time, he doesn't seem to much consider that he is losing his mind.
Very recommended black comedy.

From Beyond.

Based on an H.P. Lovecraft story of the same name, a device called a resonator reveals creatures from some other dimension all around us. The only problem is, they can see us, too.
Enjoyable cosmic horror movie.

Lords of Salem - that time in 2012 / 2013 where Rob Zombie put his David Lynch hat on. Entertaining but - if you're expecting anything similar to House of 1,000 Corpses or Devil's Rejects that's not what this is.

Shallow Grave.

An excellent and very black comedy crime film, with some gory violence.

My bride wanted to see a movie appropriate for Groundhog Day on Groundhog Day and we did. I got to pick the next movie and last night we watched some science fiction appropriate for Groundhog Day.

Last night we watched:

Edge of Tomorrow [2014]
<=>"Live, Die, Repeat"

Maltin gave the movie a very good three stars. Its current IMDb rating is an excellent 7.9.

I think both ratings are much too low. This is a wonderful Science Fiction movie—one of the best.

V E R Y\0/V E R Y \0/S T R O N G\0/R E C O M M E N D !\0/

It is hard Science Fiction...but you might even enjoy it if you usually don't like hard Science Fiction.

That is for Groundhog Day the movie, not the holiday.
