I think that We the People of WP need to take Great Care in how we are presenting ourselves to society when it comes to this Forum. There are many people that visit this site.....MANY are not autistic. We have Parents, (possibly) Teachers, Doctors, Employers and many other curious people accessing this site from many countries and varied age groups.

I cannot stress enough that EDUCATION is the best way to ADVOCATE for Autistics. We educate people Daily at WP with our Words & Actions. If we show ourselves as a People that cannot get along with even our own kind then we show ourselves in a bad light.

Wrong Planet is a wonderful place but we've got to remember that it is also a PUBLIC site where ANYONE looking for information on Autism can access our public posts.

Excuse me if I sound like I am Preaching but this is a subject I am very passionate about.

Monastic, I so agree on that, the more positive we are, the more positive others will see us and want to find out more and understand autism/aspergers more.

I couldn't have said it better myself. It will take all of us, both NTs and non-NTs to change the world-or at least to change people's views on autism.

Monastic, I totally agree with you. It needs to be brought to attention that others who don't necessarily belong to WP can read what we've written here. If we shine a bad light on autistics, and we're supposed to be the ones advocating it, well, then that's bad. Abraham Lincoln (I think) once said that "a house divided cannot stand". If we cannot accept each other and work together here at WP, then nothing will happen and we're in danger of going backwards.
