I'm usually cautious with high praise, but I thought it was brilliant. That could be because I know it's based on a real person and isn't something dreamt up by writers. They nailed it, Claire Danes in particular. Quite right that she picked up the Emmy. Everything is in there: the stilted communication, the sensory integration/sensitivity issues, the aloofness, her extraordinary mind, the enormously anxiety provoking situations and stimuli. I won't deny I was quite affected by parts of it which caught me by surprise. It's rather funny in places, too.

has anyone else seen the bbc documentary called 'the woman who thinks like a cow'? personally, i thought it was better than the hbo film, 'specially when she lays down in the middle of a group of cows.

I have, it was on the BBC a few years ago. It's on youtube, actually. I wouldn't compare the two films too closely, both are good in their own way.
