Akira
Pinocchio
Wizard of Oz.

in no particular order. Human metamorphosis is the common denominator, I guess.

Oh man, Pennywise... if I had seen him as a kid I would be scared of clowns too. That and Poltergeist (very freaky movie).

Just saw "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" and "Where the Wild Things Are"

If I had seen these films as a kid, Mr. Fox would have just confused and bored me. But "Where the Wild Things Are" would have freaked me out beyond belief.

I liked both films rather well at 45, but as a kid I would have had nightmares.

Most horror movies terrified me as a child, but I watched The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen when I was about 7 or 8, and afterwards I don't think I was able to sleep by myself for about six months.

The Shining. That movie scared me to death the first time I saw it. I couldn't sleep for weeks after that without nightmares. Forget how old I was when I first watched it, maybe 7-8 years old. That was a scary movie. :(

Well, crap, some of you are talking about seeing movies way beyond what kids should be watching! No wonder they freaked you out. My stupid brother used to let his son watch Nightmare on Elm Street when he was 4, no lie. I won't say it warped him for life, since he's a biochemist now... but it seems to me he could have had better sleep when he was little, anyhow!
