It was today 30 years ago that the sequel to the hit movie Star Wars was released to theaters. Being a big star wars fan, I thought I'd make a thread about it. Did anyone see the movie when it came out? I wasn't born until 93, so I never saw it until the Star Wars resurgence prior to the release of the special edition versions of star wars to theaters. I believe I saw Empire when I was 3 on vhs. It was and still is my favorite movie of all time. In fact, I'm planning on watching it tonight from beginning to end dressed in my Jedi robes in appreciation(Jedi Robes get hot because they're three extra layers of clothing, but I'll manage). It's been a few years since I last watched it in it's entirety and I'm really psyched.

Someone on youtube posted a cool what if Empire was made in the '50s for the anniversary and you can see how much star wars was based off of old sci-fi flicks.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. Look at the comparison version. The actual trailer and the 50's trailer are almost exact.
