..that the British version of The Office is quite incontestably the dog's wotsits?

All I know is that the U.S. version has gotten so damn annoying and it's only gonna get worse once Steve Carrell leaves the show.

This would mean it's... bad? I can't imagine the dog's wotsits being good... you are talking about the unfortunate mutt's nads, right?

I don't like either version as such, because the topic is just not my thing, and because there are right and wrong ways to get humor out of watching people be idiots and The Office is going about it the wrong way. I think the trouble is that there's no justice. Everyday all the time you get to see other people be dumb and inconsiderate and get away with it. I'd rather see something where dumb actions come back on the person committing them, eventually.

The Brittish version is always better. The no one does awkward humor as effectively as the brits do.

@MotherKnowsBest: What a blow for you.

@raisedbyignorance: I would agree. Decent at first, but it's become a bit hackneyed.

@irishwhistle: Nah, "dog's wotsits" is a British colloquial term, meaning "the very best". :P
It's usually "dog's b******s", but I know that WP is a bit finicky about off-colour language.

@skafather84: Much agreed. :) On the subject of awkward humour, would you happen to be an Alan Partridge fan?

Apparently so, seeing as how the translation didn't come through  .

Well, I don't like The Office, anyway... I hate awkward humor (is that really what it's called?). The British sitcom I did like was Waiting for God. Lots of people getting what they deserve in that one... at least, in Diana's opinion.

No, but I'm looking him up now.
