Matlock. It's a bit too fast for me though. Looks like it would be a really good show if they just slowed the talking down so I could keep up better. They should have a button on video players to choose the best playback speed without messing up the sound quality. I don't think it would take much of a speed reduction.

I read an interview they had with the lead actress, and apparently she's really depressed and burnt out. Imagine that, being the star of an acclaimed TV show, getting paid well, and still being miserable.

Eve (2022)

Episode 1 - Liyan's New Beginning

Seo Ye-ji (It's Okay to Not Be Okay) plays Lee Ra-el, the woman seeking revenge on the riches people of Korea. Why? What did the riches people of Korea ever do to her?
She witnessed the richest man in Korea have his associates beat her dad to death attempting to coerce him to sign a made up confession of corporate espionage.
We are introduced to the richest man in Korea earlier in the episode on a golf outing. A whistleblower is tied up and kneeling in from of a net while another man hits golf balls at him. Richest man seems disappointed with the golfer's accuracy, so he is knelt down besides the whistleblower. Blood is thrown on both, and in the spirit of Mr. Burns (The Simpsons), "Release the hounds." (He says something different.) They are even Dobermans.

The wife of Kang Yoon-kyum tells her daughter "What have I told you about making friends with poor children? I will find friends for you."
<bitter sarcasm>What a charming mother....</bitter sarcasm>

The show makes it very apparent which side is the Evil side, but I could be wrong. There could be a twist!

I initially was not sure if I would watch the series because the first five minutes briefly made me wonder if this was a Korean version of Dallas or Dynasty, evening operas from the 1980s. I admit I had a certain distain for those shows back then. Since then, I could care less. Didn't Maggie shoot J.R.?

So far so good for the first episode of the season.

It's quite disturbing actually

I've just seen episodes 1 and 2 of the new season of Black Mirror. Both were watchable. First one was disturbingly like the way real life is going. Second one was more like a Twilight Zone yarn.

I was watching the Scandinavian version of The Bridge, but the subtitle file for season 4 episode 1 has got something the matter with it. It doesn't show any subtitles for the first 5 minutes, even though the actors are talking. And after that it's either out of synch or it's not even the right episode. It's going to take pure genius to find out whether or not it can be fixed. Or a very patient Swedish friend.
