Last night we watched Max Headroom [1987–1988] Season 1, Episode 4: "Security Systems".

This episode's themes were:
- If you control an important and widely used IT infrastructure then you have power.
- Correctly used incorrect information can be a powerful weapon.

I recommend Max Headroom to anyone who likes Science Fiction with substance.

I really enjoyed Max Headroom when it originally aired. I enjoyed the British movie even more.

I watch so much, and post so little...

Watch TMZ Investigates: What REALLY Happened to Richard Simons on Tubi TV
I enjoyed it. I never watched Richard Simons, but it is impossible not knowing who he is if you lived during the 80s. It was not a gossipy hatchet job, which is what I suspected, hoped it wasn't. It covered his childhood, his rise to fame and why he was/is justifiably loved by so many people.
I don't remember how to format a spoiler, so I'll just say he's an introvert and internalizes all the problems people told him. He has not been seen in public since 2014. He really seems like a lovely person, like Mr. Rogers.

Then I watched episode 7 from the latest season of The Great British Baking Show. Custard Week.
Spoiler: someone was sent home.

Watched episodes 3 and 4 of Devil in Ohio on Netflix with Emily Deschanel.

and I watched (two days ago) the complete series of The History of Swear Words, also on Netflix. It was very good and informative. I would not have watched it except it has Kory Stamper in it and I have a Nerd/Media crush on her. Her intelligence tickles my brain wrinkles.

I personally do not swear much. I don't have a personal swear word. It is more of two words linked together. The first word is "Crap" which I understand has gained public acceptance, in other words not bleeped. The second word is the synonym of crap, starting with an "S" that is working its way towards public acceptance (words not bleeped). I used it mostly to describe software code I'd written when I was not at all happy with the design. I'd tell coworkers "It's a piece of crap s***." and trust me, I meant it.
If you are offended by the word crap. my apologies. S*** was episode 2. Episode 1 was the mother of all swear words. It starts with an "F"

Get Daley!, Series 4, Episode 10 of 'Minder' (1984)

Arthur is a witness to the intimidation of a business partner, which results in the accidental killing of the latter, and the perpetrators try to get at him even when he goes into hospital for a minor operation. Terry is left to sort things out, which he does to good effect, with some reluctant help from the local police.

I'm getting a bit fed up with Arthur and Terry, with their dodgy dealing and rhyming slang, not to mention the somewhat contrived plots. This stuff isn't bad at all in small doses, but you can have too much of a good thing. Fortunately there's only one episode left in this series....

Death On The Nile, episode of 'Poirot' from 2004

Never seen any of these before, or read an Agatha Christie novel, but thought I'd give this a try. Certainly well up to scratch on production values, very glossy and well filmed, etc. David Suchet plays the legendary French detective Hercule Poirot, and I found it hard to take him very seriously with his small frame, bald head and ridiculous moustache, but maybe he isn't meant to be taken entirely seriously. Predictably complicated plot, with lots of red herrings, just about watchable in the final analysis.

A Well Fashioned Fit Up, Series 4, Episode 11 of 'Minder' (1984)

Terry gets himself 'minding' jobs at an Irish pub in Kilburn and a high-end fashion store in central London. When he tries to be in two places at once, things go disastrously wrong - the pub is wrecked by drunken customers and the stock at the fashion shop is stolen, but Terry and Arthur have the last laugh on the shop owner, who was trying to double cross them.

Last in the series.
