Which super hero film might be the best of 2012?

Dark Knight Rises

or

Avengers?

Dark Knight Rises might win in my opinion because of the 3D Nolan didn't need to use, and how the story continues from the previous film.

I hope they're both good, but Nolan is definitely more consistent than Whedon.

I really didn't enjoy the last two Batman movies, whereas I've enjoyed pretty much all the Marvel movies being thrown into the Avengers pie...so I'm far more interested in seeing Avengers.

For me, I'm the opposite. I can't enjoy the Marvel films because I don't feel that their worlds are as immersive as Nolan's.

I think Joss might be able to change that though but it's not something that can be done in one movie, especially with so many characters. Which is why I would've rather the Avengers be made into a high budget TV series rather than a film.

I cannot see any of them being anything less than spectacular. Then again, soon after giving us the marvelous Spider-Man 1 & 2, Sam Raimi ruined it all with Spider-Man 3. We should be prepared for the worst, as unlikely as it sounds.

I'm REALLY looking forward to both, but TDKR narrowly wins out.

Simply because DK was the best superhero comic book film ever.

I think they'll both be disappointing, as SPFX have peaked out, yet Hollywood still hasn't come out with a decent character-driven script since 1939's "Gone With The Wind".

That's a tough choice. I've always liked Marvel more than DC. But I never really liked any of the superheroes in the Avengers, although I have been enjoying all the individual movies so far, especially Iron Man. But, Batman is my favorite DC hero. So...I think The Dark Knight Rises may be better, but just by a little.

Whedon is one of the few bonafide geniuses in the industry but he's hamstrung by all those characters. Batman one will be the better film, I'll enjoy Avengers more. I'm not into comics AT ALL so I don't care about that angle.

Tough choice, but The Dark Knight Rises will be epic.

As much as I appreciate Nolan's take on Batman, as a Marvel guy, I've gotta stick with the Avengers.

No contest. The Dark Knight Rises. But, I would be lying if i said that I wasn't looking forward to the Avengers. Also, The Amazing Spider-Man looks pretty good. Should at least be better than Spider-Man 3.
