I've been getting into some of these lately ("Hugo", "The Golden Compass", "A Series of Unfortunate Events", etc.), and I already know some of the popular ones like "Harry Potter", "Twilight" or "The Hunger Games", but can anyone recommend me some other movies based on young adult literature?

Tomorrow, When the War Began is a decent recommendation. Not as good as the book but few adaptations are.

The Book Thief is a really good young adult book that I'd recommend to anyone of any age.

Oops, I forgot you said movies based on young adult literature. I still recommend the book though and I've heard rumours of an upcoming movie.

Children's and teen books also count as young adult literature.

-I read the Hunger Games Trilogy and liked the first movie. Can't wait to see what they do with the other two films.
-I haven't read Hugo Cabret yet, but I absolutely loved the movie. I'm really tempted to snag the book and read it.
-Haven't read the Potter series, but have seen and enjoyed all the films. I'll probably just borrow my mom's copies of the books to read them.
-Tempted to see the Twilight films based only on the "so bad it's good" value, but I'll probably let them age a few more years before I watch them. As for the books, I have no interest in them whatsoever.

i'm not sure about how to feel aout the book. i mean i read it long ago and i liked it but part of me had reservations about it. it's whole premise was that foreign people were invading this country. it could easily be called xenophobic. the whole foreign people invading thing reminded me of the yellow peril thing or how people refer to refugees.
