I'm a film freak. The following are 5 previews of films I've seen at least 200 times each. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone else shares my obsession with films?

Any one out there who can share a preview of a film that they've seen a minimum of 200 times- (I'm not joking)

Admittedly all science fiction.

When I was a young child I would watch The Lion King everyday, and cry while it was rewinding, then watch it again. So, that. Also, I used to watch Sleeping Beauty every night when I was a little older, for about a year. Parent Trap, Moulin Rouge, Mulan, Annie, Saved!, Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stone, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Radio Flyer.

I spent a lot of time watching movies as a child. I didn't really go to school very much at all, and I didn't have a lot of parental supervision, so I was kind of left to do what I wanted to do. What I wanted to do was watch films.

I didn't think you were joking. I take film as one of my A Level subjects, so I have to watch a lot of films now. I'm not really that keen on that, watching a lot of films. I'd rather watch the same film twenty times, than watch twenty different films. But, I don't get bored of things the way other people seem to. I'll also listen to the same song over and over, do you do that to?

I only recently realised that this is peculiar.

Yes, but I think I'm quite a bit older than you. (I'm 41 and middle aged)

Here's a few songs I've listened to hundreds of times, without, as you say, getting bored with them:

And hundreds more!

I'm actually the opposite. I like watching 50 different films more than watching the same film 50 times.Same thing with TV episodes

200 times might be a stretch, even for me. With that said though, I have seen Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Star Wars, Aladdin, Clerks, Back To The Future, and Goldeneye countless times.

I'm a fellow 'film freak.' My Associate's degree is in Film Production, my Bachelor's in Film Studies and I'll be attending the AFI Conservatory this fall to attain an MFA in Film Editing.

The only film for which I counted views was The Sound of Music, but I only began counting in my teens...the count is 50. Considering, though, that I watched it roughly 2-3 times a week from ages 4-6, I'd say the number exceeds 200.

There are many other films I've watched multiple times, but not nearly as many as 200 times. While I love to rewatch films, I also feel as if its my 'duty' to be well-rounded in my film watching, and I have about 100 years of filmmaking on which to catch up.

I own roughly 500 movies, and have seen 2000+.

I don't think I've seen any movie 200 times, but there are a few that I've watched obsessively over and over again, maybe (maaaaaybe) approaching 100 times:

I watched Top Gun and Days of Thunder enough as a kid that I could probably still act out the entire movie by myself..

Good luck on your studies, clover. I have an associates in Film Analysis, but never really could bring myself to working alongside others for the "field work" (actually shooting films). I do have my BA though, but that's another story.

I'm personally closing in on 2,300 films seen. I usually watch at least one a day thanks to Netflix. Between that, my Netflix streaming, and what I record on my DVR from the various movie channels, I have PLENTY of alternatives to dragging myself out to drop $15 at the theater to go see the latest remake.

200 times is really allot, even 100 or 50 times.

I"m also a filmfreak but I cant watch a movie too many times (one time is enough) because there are so many movies i want to see and so little time...except for Terminator 2 and Die Hard 3, those are the two movies I saw the most...

Reading here about how many movies you guys have watched i'm really curious how many movies i have seen in my life.....I really have no idea....

I think being a filmfreak is pretty much my asperger's thingy.

I really have to calm down when people are talking about movies or I get carried away with it and could talk an entire day about it. Especially when it's somebody who knows alot about it too. :)

I have been always into movies but when i had my first computer in 1994 with a cd-rom of Cinemania with reviews of Roger Ebert, Leonard Maltin and others it got worse. :)

I spent hours reading about movies and all the famous classics I never even heard of in those days.

I'm from Belgium and in those days it was hard getting these movies here on VHS, so i kept reading in magazines what movies they would play on TV (mostly form BBC) and look them up on Cinemania. :) In the end I had thousands of tapes full with movies and so many i still havent seen.

During school in 1997 I had the chance to work for a company that distributed movies for videostores and they had all the new filmreleases. I took as many as i could and watch them in two days so i could watch some more as soon as possible.

I think i saw every movie from that year, even the crappy ones. :)

Four years later I started working in a videostore. A dream come true! When a customer asked for a movie I could immediatly say where it was or if we had it but when someone asked for a movie i could recommend i couldnt help them, a movie someone likes is so personal....

Too bad it were horrible hours with sometimes working 14 hours a day and a terrible boss or I would still do it...

Then I went to filmschool, i was amazed how little these people knew about movies and the school was very technical so it only lasted a year but I got to learn photography and now I even get paid to be a wedding photographer... :)

I guess the film I might have watched the most is "Finding Nemo". I think something around 30 times.

Other films I have watched a lot, too are:

Chicken Run
The Lion King
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

I also watched The Fox and the Hound several times. Maybe 20, I'm not sure. I never count.

All mostly on the old VHS's. Which means that I have rewinded them a lot, too.

Can't claim to have seen any film more than 20-30 times at most, and I've never counted ... BUT I am struck by *which* films people have apparently watched many many times, because several of them are my favourite rewatches too:

Aliens
Back to the Future
Sound of Music
Die Hard
The Thing

I have other favourite rewatches too, but nowhere near as many times as other people on here. However I suspect that some films are quite simply much more rewatchable than others, and that it is not just a question of personal taste. Interesting. I look forward to seeing which other films are "top rewatch" ones. :)

Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I've watched that 465 times now
Star Wars ROTJ - 313
Star Wars ESB - 289
Pearl Harbor - 273
Star Wars ANH - 244
Mamma Mia - 227
Moulin Rouge - 201
See Spot Run - 198 (close :P)

Brothers is quickly climbing up to the 200 mark and The Dark Knight too. In fact brothers will likely be in the top 3 soon enough along with Pearl Harbor. Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Pearl Harbor and Brothers are three of my all time favourite films.
