I can't think of any 'real TV' that I've watched that was marketed for guys. I have watched my fair share of animation intended for guys though.

All the time. I'm a middle-aged woman, and yet my whole life I've been much more interested in TV and film that is geared towards men. Dirty Jobs, Mythbusters, Ghost Hunters, The Terminator, The Road Warrior, Die Hard...you name it, I prefer it over anything geared towards women. I hate the Lifetime Channel, I loathe The View, and have little use for Oprah, Dr. Phil, Ellen, etc.

Deadliest catch?

How can a show be intended for a gender?

Yes! I am a huge fan of Lifetime movies about out-of-control teenagers and women's sporting events.

"Manly" shows usually involve action and doing crazy things.
"Girly" shows usually involve beauty and vanity.

I meant that anyone is free to enjoy any show. Yes, the creators can have a certain audience in mind, that's only their point of view. I don't relate to the idea of manly or girly shows you described. It seems those shows aren't intended for a gender so much as for people who have to define themselves very rigidly to feel safe.

I couldn't really say anything I watch is aimed at a specific gender, since I watch mainly tennis-oriented programs. I like "ATP Tour Uncovered," stories about the male tennis players' lives.

I'm not sure what geared towards a certain gender means.
I saw a previous poster mention the Good Wife.

I love that show but never thought of it as geared towards Woman.
