http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084827/

Have any of you ever seen this movie. On the recomendation of another person I watched it for the first time tonight.

Needless to say I was awestruck by the complexity of the special effects used to create the scenes inside the computer.

The primitive, but neat looking polygon based 3D computer animation is also something to behold.

This is the ultimate geek movie.

I can recommend another one, "Blackhole",
which also came out about 1979. I liked
both because they didn't rely upon supergraphics
and violence to override it's simplicity in plot
hightechness of the day in production.

Hmmm? any thoughts? what about the GREENS,
and the lack of clear color? This in my opinion
gave it a kindof nostalgic charm.

Yes. The acting may not be so great, but you can't deny the great special effects.

Yes, Tron is awesome!! And so is the sequel, Tron Legacy. And the third film is now in development, hopefully it will be out by next year I hope. And hopefully Tron himself will return, I hope.

I like the Tron movies though they are undeniable flawed and I like Legacy more than the original but what beats both of these movies is the awesome cartoon series Tron: Uprising which only has 19 episodes and it hasn't been anounced that it's continuing a second season though it hasn't been anouced that it's been cancelled so here's hoping.
