For fans of the Korean film Oldboy, there's now a US remake. Thoughts?

I'm sure it won't be as good, but I'm probably going to watch it. Avoiding spoilers for those who haven't seen it, I have a feeling some very important things are going to be changed, specifically doing away with something that would make the audience uncomfortable.

I've seen the original, have yet to see the remake. Remakes, in and of themselves, are typically not well done. I don't know why. The filmmakers usually get it right the first time. I'd definitely pass on a remake of Amadeus, Jean de Florette, Manon of the Spring, Blade Runner and others.
