There sure are a lot of good looking movies coming out next year. I hadn't heard about this one and, after looking at the trailer, I'll probably wait till it comes out on video. It looks like it was designed for the 12 year old Transformer/Battleship mindset.

its Guillermo Del Toro, I will be seeing it opening day.

Its like he watched Cloverfield and thought 'You know what would make this movie better? If they stopped running away from the monster and actually fought it. With giant robots'

Neat SciFi setting and gigantic robots + Glados voice = instant win

Maybe my hopes are too high but I sense that this isn't going to be a simple and shallow action-movie. It takes it influences from Mechas and Kaiju-stories which often offer social commentary and reflect some kind of actual cultural and societal atmosphere. Also the tagline "to fight monsters we created monsters" does sound interesting. There's a lot of room for speculation about the movie's details just based on the trailer alone.
It hopefully be a sci-fi movie with "heart".

Pacific Rim will be the traditional "leave your brain in the foyer" movie of the summer, who needs Oscar winning performances or overrated Les Miserables singing? I'd take giant robots fighting giant sea monsters over said musical anyday. And with Guillermo Del Toro behind it, what can go wrong? Roll on the summer.

Kinda new....most of it are scenes from the old trailer but there are some new scenes (introducing other characters) and new music.

Such a shame the plug got pulled on GDT's adaptation of At the Mountains of Madness before it began filming.
