Kill Your Darlings.

One of my very favorite movies. Beginnings of the Beat literary movement when poet Allen Ginsberg while a student at Columbia becomes lifelong friends with William Burroughs, Jack Kerouac, and the charismatic Lucien Carr who he is secretly in love with. Obsessively pursued by another gay man, David Kammerer, Carr pulls his friends into disaster when he murders Kammerer. Based on a true story.

The Devil All The Time

I saw this Tom Holland offering on Netflix last night. It was okay. I only tuned in to it because every review I read said it was ultra violent (it wasn't). In a nutshell, it falls in with a long line of movies where religion is used as a weapon, or whip, to keep people in check, but the priests/preachers themselves are corrupt to the bone. Guy Pearce's Brimstone comes to mind as well as Brad Dourif's Wise Blood, Keith Carradine's Judgment, and so on.

A very sweet film. I liked the ending.
