I watched Leave The World Behind on Netflix. It was okay. Not great but entertaining enough.

We just finished watching a Christmas movie selected by mutual consent:

Anna and the Apocalypse [2017]
<=>"She'll Slash. She'll Stab. She'll Sing."

A Scottish Christmas-Horror Rom-Zom-Com Musical.
About "Scottish": It's in English but was filmed in Scotland.

My favorite Christmas movie. And one of my favorite zombie movies. And we both like the movie a lot!

No doubt...RUN! RUN! DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!RUN! RUN!

Blood And Flesh: The Reel Life And Ghastly Death Of Al Adams.

Documentary about schlock film maker, Al Adams, his movies that were for the most part terrible, the actors and movie makers involved with his work (some of whom went on to brilliant careers), and his eventual murder by his handyman.
Truly enjoyable documentary that is both funny and truly sad.

The Beach House.

Christmas gift my wife got me. Two couples, who find they have been booked at the same vacation beach house, finds something horrific is coming from the sea to alter life on the surface. Great Lovecraftian horror!

Shazam: Fury Of The Gods.

Christmas gift for my wife from our friends. Billy Batson and company must face the daughters of Atlas in this convoluted but fun movie.

Candy cane lane (2023) starring Eddie murphey
Amazon prime video

Not the most memorable Christmas movie, but a touching one, I don't think I'd watch it again but it was a fun 2 hours.

Spiderman: Across The Spiderverse.

My daughter's Christmas gift. In the sequel to Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse, Miles Morales discovers there is a whole league of spider heroes from every universe, fighting to keep the multiverse stable by ensuring the sequence of tragedy in each Spiderman's life (death of a father figure, and that of a police captain). Now that a new interdimensional villain, the Spot, who has a grudge against Miles, and is able to travel universes, is putting that into jeopardy. Worse, Miles learns that he is a mistake, never meant to have become a Spiderman. Even worse, he comes face-to-face with what he becomes without the spider bite.
First rate animated movie which ends on a cliffhanger (Spiderman: Beyond The Spiderverse).

Last night we watched:

A Christmas Carol [1999]
<=>"In just one night, he has seen his past, his present, and his future...
<=>+In just and they've all come back to haunt him."

Patrick Stewart played Scrooge...very, very well!

Actually, the whole cast did extremely well.

Bolero

Now that you know how bad it is, you'll just have to see it for yourself.

Another odd thing about the movie, that would not fly today: a 14-year-old Ana Obregón appears nude. And, the lead actor speaks of taking lovers who are 14.

Quote:

Olivia d'Abo, who had a nude scene, was 14 during filming. "I matured physically at 13. When I did Bolero with Bo and John Derek, John thought I had implants. But I know I look young and innocent, which helps me get roles," she said

Maybe anyone who watches the movie ought to be arrested. 8O

Cannibal Holocaust https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannibal_Holocaust

If you're in the mood for something extremely disturbing, or if you are really curious as to what the insides of a turtle look like, then this may be the film for you.

I gather this this has become something of a cult film.
