Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows

My other half hadn't seen either, and I'd only seen both of them once.

Still as entertaining and witty as I remembered. Nothing too complicated, which is fine.

They've been wanting to remake this franchise for years, and the catastrophic failure of a sequel Ace Ventura Jr.: Pet Detective vanished as fast as it appeared.

There are no brakes on the remake train, and to take a franchise such as this would require an exhaustive overhaul. A lot of the humour and majority of the plot from the first film (if remade verbatim) would cause a lot of controversy and offence if made today.

Still, I love both Ace Ventura films, and they still make me laugh, perhaps for nostalgia's sake.

2019 version. I really enjoyed it



It was! I liked the 'beasts' in it better I think, and the humour. I'll have to watch the second one again though and see if I still feel the same.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Dark comedy taking place in Hollywood and the Spahn Ranch in the late sixties with a jumble of characters both fictional and non-fictional, culminating to when the Manson Family set out to commit mass murder. The ending is clearly ahistorical, but fun none the less.

^^^As yet to see that, but I've heard it's worth a look...

Fisherman's Friends
Synopsis:
Fisherman's Friends is a 2019 biographical comedy-drama directed by Chris Foggin from a screenplay by Nick Moorcroft, Meg Leonard and Piers Ashworth.

The film is based on a true story about Port Isaac's Fisherman's Friends, a group of Cornish fishermen from Port Isaac who were signed by Universal Records and achieved a top 10 hit with their debut album of traditional sea shanties. Also contains a strong romantic element.

The film stars an ensemble cast headed by Daniel Mays, James Purefoy and Tuppence Middleton with David Hayman, Noel Clarke, Dave Johns, Maggie Steed, Sam Swainsbury and Christian Brassington playing key supporting roles.

If you're looking for a very good, feel-good film and true story to boot, with an emphasis on life in Cornwall, you'll love this! Best film I've seen in awhile, and I watch lots!

I enjoyed this fun little Who Donit?

All Superheroes Must Die.

No budget superhero flick, but still fun. Four superheroes have had their powers stripped from them by their nemesis, who then picks them off one by one as they try to rescue innocent civilians. But the game against them is fixed.

The Body (El Cuerpo). Spanish crime thriller with some horror elements. Very well done - acting, photography, story, music, everything.
