I decided to quit psychologically torturing myself with Game of Thrones and get back to wholesome cheesy horror movies from a long time ago.

Thank you Roku! :D

I thought it was one of the better films I have seen this year.

Carnival Of Fear (2010)

This is the second film on the 3-DVD 'Ultimate Slashers' pack I bought. The first was the utterly unsalvageable Bunnyman, and it has to be said that this one is at least quite watchable in parts, though overall pretty lame and too long at close to 2 hours. I thought it might have been inspired by the early 60s cult classic Carnival Of Souls, but it doesn't seem to reference that one at all, and in fact has an alternative title Closed For The Season.

One new word I learned from this film was 'Carny' or 'Carney', an American word which apparently describes the kind of dodgy person who sometimes operates fairground attractions. That might make people in the UK think of Bank of England governor Mark Carney, who could be seen as being engaged in a similar line of business...

A lot of the film was shot on the site of Chippewa Lake Park in Ohio, an amusement park which closed in 1978, but still exists in a highly dilapidated state.

Already saw it in the theater, but still a laugh a minute.

I watched Mary Poppins Returns. Not normally a big fan of musicals, but really enjoyed this one.

Pet Semetary

I wonder why it was spelled with an 'S'?

In the book, it's explained the animal cemetery outside the Micmac burial ground had been first established by kids who didn't know how to spell.
