Fatman.

World weary and imbittered Santa (Mel Gibson, of all people!) has to take a military contract because costs are running him out of business. Meanwhile, a spoiled, evil rich boy who Santa had given coal to, hires a hitman, who has a chip on his shoulder for not getting what he wanted for Christmas as a child, to kill Santa. Great, black comedy, and maybe one of the greatest Christmas movies ever!

Dr. No (1962) The first James Bond movie. YouTube has all the early Bond films for free right now.

Agreed! I liked him in The Party as well.

I liked The Party when I first saw it at a movie theater, but it's one of those movies that once you've seen it, it isn't very interesting to see again.

There are a surprising number of movies like that. I've never seen a movie starring Bob Hope that I didn't enjoy, but they are never the same to watch again.

In comparison, movies like Blazing Saddles and Hatari! don't seem to ever get old.

Gone baby gone

Nowhere Boy - A must-see for anyone looking to understand John Lennon. Very watchable ... delves into a very tumultuous period in his life, when he sough maternal love and artistic freedom.

I saw "Nowhere Boy" recently.

My feeling is that Lennon was misunderstood and all that jazz----but I also feel he shouldn't have been such a jerk at times.

that is the next movie i wanna watch.

Hiroshima

A 1995 film which is almost three hours long, but always engaging. The main character is President Harry Truman, played excellently by one Kenneth Welsh, who looks almost exactly like him here. A fair amount of focus is given to top-level discussions in Washington and Tokyo, though how accurate these 'recreations' are is probably debatable: the portrayals of the Japanese hardliners in particular seem a bit cartoonish. There's a powerful scene in which Secretary of State James Byrnes receives a delegation from the leading figures in the Manhattan Project, which is definitely worth a look.

My only complaint would be that the representations of the actual bombings consist of stock footage, some of which was also shown in the 1983 film The Day After.

Thin Air

TV movie from 2000. Not my sort of scene at all - Latino gangsters, ridiculous far-fetched plot, contrived wisecracking dialogue, etc, - but it did feature Marcia Gay Harden, whom I remembered for her impressive performance as the wife of Jackson Pollock in a biopic of that artist. Actually, her character isn't that interesting here, and doesn't feature very prominently, so hey ho, some you win......
