Which Christmas movies should I watch with my girlfriend? She's Chinese and has little notion of what Christmas is. I was thinking of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation or one of the many adaptations of A Christmas Carol, but which is the best one?

Christmas themed TV episodes will also be considered. So what are your favourite Christmassy movies, TV specials or episodes? And also which is the best adaptation of A Christmas Carol?

Lampoons is good. It shows the illusion that is the "perfect family christmas" :D

I shouldn't have bothered. In my naivety I forgot that my girlfriend has a bizarre habit of waiting until the movie is 15 minutes from the end credits and then saying that she's tired and needs to go to sleep. Even though it was only 10 o'clock and she normally stays up late. She said she was sleepy and she needed to go to sleep. So we both went to bed and she spent the next two hours watching Youtube on her phone. I don't think she was really tired.

You can't go wrong with Groundhog Day. Basically a modern version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol with Bill Murray as the lead.

Nightmare Before Christmas
It's a Wonderful Life

Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown is only a half-hour long, but I've looked forward to it every year since it first came out.

Dare I mention the Star Wars Christmas Special?...If you want to really spelunk the depths of WTF.

Also don't forget the Muppets take on A Christmas Carol.

I was going to suggest that :D but I'll also suggest the Shrek Christmas special(I forget what it's called exactly). He never celebrated Christmas before & he's trying to put together the perfect one but things are not going by the book.
