Hi:

Years ago, while in high school, I craved Titanic like everyone else. I also liked Leo for a long time.

Since then, my tastes have changed and as other people have pointed out, that movie is very overrated. Every time, I watch the movie, I just can’t get into it anymore.

I watched it last night and noticed the following things

1. The ship and a lot of the scenes are CGI and look fake. The quality of the engine rooms reminded me of Doctor Who, which I would rather watch.

2. Though Rose is a great character, the movie focused too much on the love story than the historical figures.

3. Before the ship sank, the movie was pretty boring, except for the modern day scenes with Bill Paxton. That was more interesting with all the artifacts.

It's a fairly typical romance film with some cheesy moments and the interesting backdrop.

Leo made a film called The Aviator around that time. That is one of my favourites, so I'd recommend that instead.

I love The Aviator, which came out 7 years later. I also liked him in

1. Catch Me if You Can
2. The Great Gatsby

I saw Titanic in the theater, and they actually let people sit in the aisle, just to sell more tickets.

Favorite DiCaprio movie is Total Eclipse.

I remember when I first went, everyone said Titanic is a tear jerker. So before I left to see the movie, I stuffed my coat pocket with tissues. However, I didn’t cry until the movie was over. I also cried for the rest of the week after that.

There was so much hype for the movie it made me wish I almost went down with that ship. I even heard there are people who don't even realize the Titanic was a real a ship that sank in real life and that lots of real people died when it did. Seriously?

I saw it once about ten years ago. Meh. I lost focus too because it was so long.

I didn't buy them as a couple. She looked way older than him and the chemistry was off.

I had a lot of other little criticisms at the time but I can't remember now.

There's a 1950s film made in black and white about the sinking of the Titanic. Worth a look?

I can see the chemistry between them and I think the reason she looks older

1. He’s looked like he was 15, though he was 22.

2. She was only 21 when she played Rose. Honestly, I think it was a make up. When she played her, Kate reminded me of Judy Garland.

However, I think she and Billy Zane made a neat couple.

I don't know either of the actors' names or anything about them. I just remember she was a lot more mature than he was and seemed about eight years older. I've never heard of Billy Zane.

Maybe I should look at it again one day but I don't watch very many movies.

At least James Cameron kept many of us satisfied for twelve years until the release of Avatar.

I also liked LDC in:

The Wolf of Wall Street

The Revenant

Inception

Shutter Island

It was over-rated. It sank.
