This thread was created to discuss the 1998 film starring Liam Neeson Geoffrey Rush, Uma Thurman, and Claire Danes. Although you can compare this with the novel if you wish to do so.

The movie is great and Liam Neeson is one of my favourite actors.

IMO this movie version is very sub par compared to the musical. Lots of stuff was just cut from it and they did not get into the characters motives as well as the musical. I am hoping that someone will do an epic movie musical of it. I have read the book as well. IMO this film version is pretty bad.
