Quick question.

The scene where the five best racers go into the desert. I don't understand why they all start getting shot at an killed?

The bad guys brought the money and i presumed it was to give to the drivers to act as couriers but instead the bad guys attack the couriers... or did i miss something?

It was because Dominic started attacking Phoenix for murdering Letty. That is how the fire fight started. Dom opened the nitrous tank and when the bullet struck Dom's car, all of them exploded and that was when the shooting commenced.
