Hi and welcome! How was your experience getting the diagnosis? I just started the process bu answering a questionnaire and next is my follow-up meeting with my psychologist.

My process was quite easy actually. A friend mentioned to me I might look into whether or not I was autistic. I was in disbelief at first, but once I learned about high masking autistics and what the constellation of symptoms were, and after I scored off the charts on all the online tests including the CAT-Q (which measures masking techniques), I was determined to go find a psychiatrist to corroborate what I already knew. She did about an hour's worth of testing, interviewed me some, and was able to give me the diagnosis on the spot. She ruled out the Cluster B's and OCD and ADHD. It was such a relief like I said. I see color so brightly, I am so sensitive to light, I feel my emotions so strongly but they confuse me so much...now I have an answer as to why.

I hope your diagnosis is this easy and relieving for you too.

I hadn't seen the CAT-Q before.
I thought I was downplaying my masking but scored 145. (52,46,47)

It's pretty much all subconscious now, but most of those questions were deliberate strategies in high school.

That's a solid score. The things we learn in order to assimilate...

Here's something amusing.
In high school when I decided to modify my gait I chose Jeremy Duncan (Zits comic strip) as my model. You'd think adopting gait from still images would be difficult, but I was a 6' 6" ganglebot, so slumping and getting loose enough to get my extremities flicking wasn't terribly difficult. I was trying to capitalise on my assets and appealing to the progesterone soaked seemed a good idea. (Any women want to refute the idea that oestrogens go for cuddly and progesterone goes for gangly?)

That's a very perplexing question and I have no idea how to answer it. Thanks for the image and the smile.
