I am, I guess, self-diagnosed. I really wish I had psycology as an interest when I was a kid, learning earlier would have saved me a LOT of problems.

By now (I'm 36), I've managed to work out most problems. I've learned to cope with others in social situations (mostly intellectually-- I know what people expect and can usually fake it nowadays). I've had a SO for some 13 years now, and while the road has at times been rocky, things are great (he's gotten used to my quirks, and I've gotten better at evaluating how he feels).

My question, I guess, is wether there is any point to being formally diagnosed?

I was diagnosed in 1996 (at age 16), but I am barely on the spectrum.
